Julia Wahtra graduated from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in June 2019. She has a Master’s Degree in Economics with a specialisation in Environmental Economics and a Degree in Agronomy. Julia has worked at Anthesis alongside her studies, and full-time since she graduated in 2019. In 2020 Julia chose to continue her academic career by starting a Ph.D. at SLU. In parallel with her doctoral studies, she will continue to work part-time in the field of environmental economics at Anthesis. As a consultant Julia primarily works within the field of environmental economics at Anthesis and she’s got experience of performing socio-economic analysis e.g. cost-benefit analysis, data and policy analysis as well as mapping and economic valuation of ecosystem services. Julia has a keen interest in sustainability issues, especially in relation to land use, food production and issues regarding management of aquatic ecosystems.
During the spring of 2019, Julia wrote her Master’s thesis “Establishment of Water Protection Areas: Comparing Benefits of Protecting Groundwater Services to Agricultural Costs” at Anthesis. The thesis can be found under Publications.
